Gerard Butler has been dating his girlfriend for seven months.

The Scottish actor has been linked to actress-and-model Madalina Ghenea, although he has not confirmed or denied the reports before.

Gerard squirmed during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno when he was questioned about the alleged romance and admitted he had been seeing someone on a regular basis.

"It's been seven months now… is it a record? No, it's not a record," Gerard joked. "Two nights is my usual standard."

Gerard appeared on the show to promote his new rom-com Playing for Keeps in which he portrays a former sports star who has fallen on hard times and starts coaching his son's soccer team as a way to get his life together. His attempts to grow up are met with challenges from the attractive soccer moms, who pursue him at every turn.

The movie also stars Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Gerard revealed a humorous incident that occurred during filming.

Gerard stayed on a houseboat during the shoot and while it wasn't that flashy to look at the cast enjoyed taking trips on the vessel.

During one such journey, Gerard's questionable captaining skills posed a problem for Dennis.

"One day Dennis came out with us and we were in this dock, with three sides to it which is where we parked it. Then I was driving it out, when I heard someone shout. I turned around and saw Dennis, he was there clinging onto the boat, but his feet were still on the jetty and he was hanging on for real life!" Gerard laughed.

"Then he falls in, so now he's hanging from the boat with his feet dangling in the water so I had to stop and get out and run round and get him back on the dock. I felt so bad! Then the boat was stuck as well, I was feeling so bad for Dennis I decided to jump into the water. It was literally this high [illustrates a height mid chest] hardly deep. And there I was thinking, 'Oh no I've killed Dennis Quaid!'"

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

A friend will tell you about a job opening at their company. This lead will turn into a dead end. Don't set your hopes on this possibility. Instead of looking for another job, concentrate on fulfilling your duties. Tempers are running high. The last thing you want is to catch the attention of an irritable superior. If someone does criticise your work, remain silent. These remarks may be terribly unfair, but defending yourself will only make the situation worse. Breathe deep. This, too, shall pass.More
