The Jane The Virgin star calls on her fellow Latinos to rise up and keep Donald Trump out of the White House.

Actress Gina Rodriguez has urged her fellow Latino stars to behave more like Jews in Hollywood.

The Jane The Virgin star admits she has always admired the way Jewish celebrities and movie people look after each other in Tinseltown, and she wishes her people could do the same.

"One thing that I love about Jewish culture is that anthill effect," she tells Latina magazine. "Every ant brings food to the anthill and everybody eats.

"Sadly our culture has been living the crab-in-the-barrel effect. We're so afraid there isn't enough room for all of us that we fight to get to the top. We don’t need to do that. There's room for all of us. We're stronger in numbers."

The actress recently took a step towards creating more diversity in Hollywood by launching a social media campaign aimed at promoting her fellow Latinos.

Rodriguez, who is Puerto Rican-American, debuted her new initiative, called #MovementMonday, in January (16). The weekly mail-out highlights Latino members of the television and film industry.

"I decided to start a movement and speak from the perspective of a Latina American who desires to see more Latinos on screen," she wrote. "There are 55 million Latinos in this country (U.S.) and although we all come from various backgrounds our unity can make a movie explode at the box office or a tv show sore (sic) to the highest viewers possible. The better these projects do financially, the more money they will spend on putting LatinosiIn blockbuster films, as leads in tv shows Etc."

And Gina hopes Latinos will rise up in time for the U.S. presidential elections in November (16) to keep Donald Trump out of the White House.

She tells Latina, "As Latinos, we put Barack (Obama) in office. We could do the same in making sure that Donald Trump doesn't get in office. We are that strong."

Republican Trump has upset Latinos and divided America with his views on immigration, revealing he would like to build a wall between Mexico and America to keep illegal aliens out of the U.S.

Launching his presidential campaign last summer (Jun15), the property tycoon caused outrage when he suggested many Mexicans living in America were murderers and rapists who brought nothing but crime into the country.
