Glanville: I wrote book to support children
Brandi Glanville has defended her decision to write a tell-all book about LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, insisting she needed the money because her ex is a deadbeat dad.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shares two sons, ages nine and five, with Eddie.
Eddie and LeAnn married in 2011 following the collapse of both their marriages and Brandi began working with the couple to co-parent little Mason and Jake.
She comes clean about how her husband’s affair unfolded in her new book Drinking and Tweeting.
But Brandi says the book wasn’t purely driven by revenge. She also needs money to support her family.
“That’s all I worry about. With Eddie not working and me having to pay my own bills, this book will help me do that. The fact that, unfortunately, I had to write this book, I have to pay the bills. He’s not doing that for me,” she said on America’s Today Show Tuesday.
Brandi was also candid about when her relationship with Eddie and LeAnn went from cordial to zero contact.
She said her ties with the couple fell apart last year after LeAnn went to rehab to treat anxiety.
“I don’t know. If someone is checking into rehab clearly there’s some sort of issues going on,” she insisted. “I want to make sure that’s not affecting my children.”
Brandi isn’t convinced LeAnn is over her issues.
Both stars are guilty of trading barbs over Twitter.
Eddie responded to Brandi’s accusations in a statement to RadarOnline.
The actor slammed her claims and insists her new book is doing more harm than good for their two boys.
“I certainly wish I handled some of the choices I made four years ago differently, but I have been conscious of the choices I have made since,” he said.
“Although this exploitive book, intended to hurt LeAnn and me, will ultimately only hurt and scar my kids. That deeply saddens and concerns me.”
