Goode has nerves over papal role

Matthew Goode has been working with Ridley Scott

Matthew Goode has revealed he's "slightly frightened" with his role in Ridley Scott's new pilot The Vatican.

The Stoker star has just signed to play papal secretary Bernard Koch in Ridley Scott's new show opposite Zero Dark Thirty actor Kyle Chandler and A Good Day To Die Hard's Sebastian Koch.

"It's quite exciting, isn't it? It's Ridley Scott so of course I am excited," he said.

The Devon-born actor, who now lives in Kent with long-term girlfriend Sophie Dymoke and their four-year-old daughter Matilda, is thrilled and nervous about the potential TV show.

"I'm slightly frightened as well, because he's going to direct the pilot and if it doesn't go into a series, I am probably going to blame myself. His back catalogue is pretty fool-free," he said.

"I love Kyle Chandler so I'm excited to meet him, and Sebastian Koch. It films in England too, so it's ticking a lot of things. As a family man, I'm like, 'Great! It's perfect', so we will see. Let's hope it does well."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
