Gwen Stefani is 'absolutely not' engaged to Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani Googles herself on a daily basis to try and stay on top of the stories that emerge about her and Blake Shelton.
Gwen Stefani is taking her relationship with Blake Shelton "one day at a time".
The 46-year-old singer confirmed her relationship with her fellow The Voice coach Blake last November (15) after finalising her divorce from Gavin Rossdale the month before. Since then, Gwen and Blake's romance has gone from strength to strength, with rumours recently emerging that Blake, 39, had even popped the question.
However Gwen shot down the allegations while appearing on 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show on Wednesday (01Jun16),
"Let’s just take it one day at a time," she shrugged when asked about engagement claims. "Everything’s crazy right now so no, absolutely not."
Gwen has been in the public eye since she was just 17, when she landed the role of front woman of band No Doubt. But being a veteran of the industry doesn't mean Gwen ignores stories about herself - in fact, it's just the opposite.
"Can you imagine the amount of gossipy, weird stories people make up? To me, it makes me laugh every day," she said. "I actually do Google my name just so I can see the next one that’s gonna happen, because it’s gotten so out of control.
"The best part about it is it’s hilarious; the worst part about it is that some people actually believe that stuff like that is what’s funny."
Gwen's interview came after Blake opened up about their romance with Rolling Stone magazine. Around the same time as Gwen left Gavin, Blake was also newly single after splitting from Miranda Lambert. So the growing feelings between him and Gwen on The Voice came as a surprise to them both.
"We were starting The Voice last year, and I had to sit down and go, ‘Look, by the time this thing airs, my life will have completely changed, and we need to talk about this now because it may affect what we talk about on the show,'" he recalled. "I just felt like there doesn't need to be secrets. And then the same thing (happened) with Gwen. It was like, 'Here’s what’s going on, this show ain’t gonna air until three months from now, so let’s get this talked about right now.'
"That’s how we even found out what was going on. And we just started to develop a friendship after that. And it took awhile, because it’s chaos. But just over time, seeing each other a lot at work, it just kind of developed into that."
