Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop employees always start stressing out when one of the site's posts gets mocked online.

The 42-year-old actress launched her lifestyle website in 2008 and has since used it to recommend food, stores and clothes, as well as talk about her life.

Sometimes the articles it features get ridiculed online, such as when items she suggested for an updated spring wardrobe added up to half a million dollars. Even when the criticism is harsh, Gwyneth doesn't let it get to her.

"When something like that happens, I think everybody [in the Goop office] is like, ‘Oh sh*t,’” she told Fast Company's September issue, according to New York Post.

"I just tell them that I think we are creating interesting discussions."

One of Goop's most famous posts announced the end of Gwyneth's marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin last year. It was titled "conscious uncoupling", with the phrase picked up around the world and widely mocked.

Even that hasn't affected the blonde star, as it wasn't her who came up with the headline. It was actually her editorial director Elise Loehnen who used it, and it was also Elise who wrote a piece about "vaginal steaming" earlier this year.

"When I announced that I was separating on the website [Loehnen] titled the piece ‘Conscious Uncoupling,’ and I had no idea," Gwyneth explained.

Elise stands by the headline, along with the other controversial item she posted. It calls the practice of vaginal steaming an "energetic release" and she maintains people got far too het up about it.

"It feels good, it’s not harmful — it’s not like we’re urging people to go out and buy AK-47s," she said.

Gwyneth has previously insisted she has no problem with people joking about the use of "conscious uncoupling", as she didn't invent the phrase. She's more interested in ensuring her relationship with her ex-husband stays solid for the sake of their son and daughter.

"We’re very, very close, and it’s so nice. I feel like it’s, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have," she previously said.
