Gwyneth: I mastered Martin relationship
Gwyneth Paltrow thinks it’s nice how close she is to her estranged husband Chris Martin.
The A-list couple shocked fans last March when they decided to go their separate ways in a split they dubbed ‘conscious uncoupling’.
However they remain close, and both raise their children Apple, ten, and Moses, eight. This has lead Gwyneth to feel true contentment at their situation.
“We've worked really f**king hard to get to [this] point. But we're very, very close, and it's so nice. I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have,” Gwyneth opened up to Marie Claire.
The pair announced their split via Gwyneth’s lifestyle website Goop, and since then Gwyneth has spoken publically on numerous occasions about the end of their ten-year union.
She’s once again spoken openly about her and Chris’ decision to end things, insisting it was merely a case of “hitting a wall”.
“There was nothing dramatic or anything,” she assured the magazine. “I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn't do it anymore, and I really had the sense that I wasn't allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else, and I just sort of hit a wall."
Since they called it quits, both stars have been linked to new partners. It’s thought Coldplay front man Chris was romancing Jennifer Lawrence, while Gwyneth set tongues wagging with her friendship with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk.
Many have speculated that Gwyneth and Chris will eventually get back together, with the Oscar winner recently admitting to the British edition of Harper’s Bazaar that the thought has crossed her mind.
“Of course, there are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want,” she sighed.
