Gwyneth 'is self destructing'
Gwyneth Paltrow has reportedly worried friends with her latest comments and her constant need to be in control.
The Oscar winning actress has caused concern amongst those closest to her since she split with husband Chris Martin in March.
While the pair remain close, Gwyneth's had a string of bizarre outbursts recently that her inner circle are attributing to the marriage breakdown.
"It's like she's pushing some virtual self-destruct button. And everyone is laughing about it or getting mad with her and not realising there could be something else going on," a friend told British magazine Grazia, after Gwyneth compared the online trolling of celebrities to fighting in a war.
"She's under a hell of a lot of pressure trying to carry out in public this image of a perfect fairy-tale split from Chris. It's like she's trying to be in control of an out-of-control situation in her personal life. Things aren't making sense."
Days after she declared her feelings on badmouthing celebrities, 41-year-old Gwyneth also spoke about her belief that water has feelings. While this is a viewpoint shared by others, including Dr. Masaru Emoto, who inspired Gwyneth's remarks, not everyone took kindly to the comment.
To make matters worse, friends believe that her continued closeness to Chris, who is father to her two children Apple and Moses, is confusing the Iron Man actress.
"Gwyneth is a perfectionist and she makes life harder for herself by never letting that mask of perfection slip. It's a lot of pressure," another insider said.
"Gwyneth is hurting from her split with Chris, but that are still together a lot of the time. It's confusing. All this latest nonsense seems to be her way of throwing herself into stuff that isn't the stuff she needs to be dealing with," a former colleague of Gwyneth's added.
