Gwyneth Paltrow: I was a fool!
Gwyneth Paltrow says launching her lifestyle website Goop has shown her a different side to herself.
The 42-year-old actress founded the lifestyle website in September 2008, and the popularity of the weekly newsletter has increased exponentially over the past few years.
But Oscar-winning actor Gwyneth was oblivious initially.
"I was a fool. I had no idea what I was getting myself into," Gwyneth said during a Friday interview on Bloomberg TV. "It's amazing to be... the creative force and also to be understanding what's going on on the fiscal side and with raising money and all of that. It's very challenging. You know, it's a side to me that I didn't necessarily know that I possessed."
Gwyneth added that while Goop is famous for being her business baby, she is keen to step away from the brand at some point in the future.
And she is also hopeful her children Apple, ten, and eight-year-old Moses, will take on leadership of Goop when they’re older.
"I know that at this point it's inextricably linked with me, but we really are a team of amazing people who bring incredible ideas to the site. And it's not only me," she said. "I never wanted to do a proprietary brand. I wanted it to be its own thing, you know, that my children can run one day if they want to."
Gwyneth split from her children’s father, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, last year.
And the Iron Man star says while she is kept busy on the business side of things, her brood take up a lot of time as well.
Asked what her toughest job is on a daily basis, Gwyneth replied: “Definitely getting Moses to do his homework. That's my toughest job, for sure."
