Hailey Baldwin: 'It's difficult to date another celebrity'
The model doesn't want her relationship to be tabloid fodder.
Hailey Baldwin finds dating Justin Bieber difficult.
The 19-year-old model has been linked to the Sorry singer for months, after he shared a picture of the couple kissing on Instagram in January (16). But although she has since insisted the couple is not "exclusive", that hasn't kept the media away - and the interest in her relationship with him has made things more difficult for the pair.
"I don't want attention out of dating somebody," she tells Marie Claire magazine. "Texts started coming through, crazy phone calls... It's hard to date somebody in this industry. You have to have really thick skin and be very strong. You have to focus on the person and nothing else."
For now, Hailey's relationship with the Baby star will stay casual, and she still wants to keep the details private.
"We are not an exclusive couple," she previously told Eonline.com. "He's about to go on tour. Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don't really like to talk about it because it's between me and him."
However, the pair have not been afraid to open up about how much they support each other.
"Justin's awesome," she told MTV. "I have nothing but love for him and good things to say about him..."
And while Justin has described Hailey as someone he really loves, the 22-year-old has also opened up about his fears of settling down at a young age.
"I don't want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I'm only theirs, only to be hurt in the end," he told GQ magazine. "Right now in my life, I don't want to be held down by anything. I already have a lot that I have to commit to. A lot of responsibilities. I don't want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility."
"What if Hailey ends up being the girl I'm gonna marry, right?" he continued. "If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it's always gonna be damaged. It's really hard to fix wounds like that. It's so hard.... I just don't want to hurt her."
