Halle Berry is believed to have married the father of her unborn child during a secret ceremony in France.

The couple exchanged vows at a church on the grounds of the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France, according to French website Pure People.

Guests were pictured arriving at the venue, where a large white tent shielded the bride and groom from view.

Rumours circulated about an impending wedding when the couple travelled from the US to Olivier's native France with her five-year-old daughter, Nahla, earlier this week.

Halle, 46, and Olivier, 47, announced their engagement in March 2012 after two years together.

She is expecting their first child this autumn.

The actor will be step-father to Nahla, Halle's daughter with ex-partner, model Gabriel Aubry.

This would be Halle's third marriage.

She wed baseball player David Justice in 1993 but the couple split four years later

Her four-year marriage to musician Eric Benét ended in 2005. She began dating Gabriel later that year but the couple split in 2010.

Her engagement to Olivier came as a surprise as the actress had been adamant for years she would never again tie the knot.

"I will never, never get married again," she said in 2007. "Actually it's just that now I've come to a place where I think two people can share their lives without the ring, without the piece of paper."

The union would be Olivier's first.

Neither star has commented on reports of the nuptials.
