Halle Berry 'bothered' by criticism

Halle Berry

Nasty comments about falling pregnant at 46 are apparently "the last thing" Halle Berry needs right now.

The 46-year-old star recently announced she is expecting a child with her fiancé Olivier Martinez.

The actress - who already has five-year-old daughter Nahla with her ex Gabriel Aubry - was immediately hit by a backlash, claiming she was "too old" to be expecting.

"She wouldn't be human if things like this didn't bother her," a source revealed to British magazine Look.

"She got a similar horrible reaction when she got pregnant at 41 with Nahla. Ultimately, she's proud to have defied the odds and knows she'll be a great mom, but it is a scary time. She's aware that there are more dangers when having a child in her late 40s - the last thing she needs is to be reminded of that and called selfish by people who don't know anything about her situation."

Halle has had a rough time recently and was embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Gabriel when she announced her plans to move to France with Olivier.

The two men were even involved in a brutal altercation, but the matter was resolved and Halle agreed to stay in the US with Nahla.

Falling pregnant has been a joyous occasion for the star.

"It's been no secret that she and her fiancé, Olivier, wanted to extend their family. They've been engaged for over a year, and having a baby was always the priority. They weren't expecting it to happen so easily though. It's wonderful news," the insider smiled.

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
