Halley Berry has laughed off comments she made in the past about never tying the knot again.
The actress has been married twice before and has a four-year-old daughter from her relationship with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.
But she told Extra recently that she is thrilled to have been proved wrong after her engagement to French actor Olivier Martinez.
"Who knew [I would get engaged again]?" she laughed. "I swore off [marriage], right?"
Although this was Halle's first public appearance since becoming engagement and it was the first time she spoke about her upcoming nuptials, her fiancé had already confirmed the news.
"Yes, of course it's true!" Oliver said last month.
Halle was at the Jenesse Center Silver Rose Gala to raise funds for disadvantaged women.
"Being a mother is probably my greatest sense of purpose," she shared. "But [being chairwoman of the charity] gives me another sense of purpose outside my own family."
