Halle Berry ‘ordered to pay child support’
Halle Berry has reportedly been ordered by the court to pay $16,000 in child support to her ex Gabriel Aubry, who is the father of their daughter Nahla.
The 47-year-old X-Men: Days of Future Past actress shares six-year-old daughter Nahla with her former partner Gabriel Aubry, a French Canadian model.
And the Associated Press reports Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon ruled on May 30 Halle has to pay Gabriel $16,000 per month until Nahla is either 19 years old or a high school graduate.
Apparently the star must also fork up money for their daughter’s school tuition, $300,000 to Gabriel for his family court lawyer’s fees and $115,000 to the model in retroactive support payments.
Before the recent settlement was reached, Halle and Gabriel, 38, have engaged in highly publicised disputes over their child since ending their five-year relationship in 2010. The custody battle escalated in 2012 when the actress asked the courts for permission to move to France with Nahla, but the judge denied her request.
Halle tied the knot with French actor Olivier Martinez last July after they met in 2010 filming their movie Dark Tide. Halle gave birth to their son Maceo in October and the couple currently reside in Los Angeles.
It has recently been claimed that although Halle can’t legally move to Olivier’s native France with her daughter Nahla, her 48-year-old husband is desperate to relocate to his country.
"Olivier's told Halle he's tired of LA and wants to move back to France. He wants her to follow him and for them to start a new life in Paris," a source told British magazine Closer previously. "They've already been having problems because of their hectic work schedules and it's causing a huge amount of tension."
