Halle: motherhood changed my acting
Halle Berry says she is a better actress because of her children.
The X-Men star has two children – daughter Nahla, five, and son Maceo, five months.
According to Halle, parenthood has given her on-screen performances a whole new edge.
"Being a mom—that started when I had my daughter six years ago—you do start to bring different levels to your performances because being a mom is so life-changing and transforming when you have that right of passage and so it would be very hard for me not to bring that to every single thing that I do and I love that," she told E! News.
The Extant star says little Maceo, who is her first child with husband Olivier Martinez, is “fantastic,” and says having a son is very different to raising a daughter.
"The energy. Whoever says they're not different from the start, they've never had both,” Halle insisted.
The actress has made it clear she is more than happy these days with both her career and her family life.
Previously referring to herself as a “hopeless romantic”, Halle says she and Olivier get along so well because they were friends before entering a romantic relationship.
“When I first met Olivier, there wasn’t the initial ‘I’m in love!’ It was something that grew more gradually -- and it feels more real because of that," Halle told InStyle Magazine.
“He’s silly, a clown, and very much the life of the party, which is good for someone like me. Danny Downer ... been there, done that. Now I like Louie Lightfoot!”
