Halliwell joins X Factor auditions
Geri Halliwell made her mark as she joined judges for the first X Factor audition - addressing the Wannabes from the roof of a car.
The former Spice Girl, not known as the quietest of stars, made sure she was heard by the thousands of fans in Liverpool by speaking through a loud hailer.
Geri, who stepped in as a guest judge, wowed the crowds in an electric blue lace minidress with a daring cutaway back and high-heeled ankle boots.
As ever the fashion stakes were high with her fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos arriving in a short floral dress and red stilettos.
Arriving at the Echo Arena, she stood with her arms in an "X" pose, showing off her forearm tattoo, bearing the words "the female boss".
Geri has been drafted in as a temporary panellist as show bosses hunt for a permanent replacement for Kelly Rowland. Although her former Spice bandmate Mel B is lined up for another audition, she is reported to be the frontrunner to land the position.
Geri made the most of her time in the spotlight, delighting the crowds by posing for photos and even giving the occasional hug to fans.
Fellow judge Gary Barlow donned a Breton-style T-shirt with black jacket as he trod the red carpet on the way into the auditions, while Louis Walsh opted for a pale shirt and dark jacket.
The judges were facing the hopefuls for the first time as they scoured the country for acts to take part in the next series of the talent show. This year sees a change in the rules allowing performers to take part who already have management deals.
Kelly indicated last month that she would not be returning to the series. Dannii Minogue had been in talks to reprise her role on the judging panel but talks ended last week.
