Hamilton rants after being fined

Paula Hamilton leaves court after being found guilty of assaulting a policeman

Paula Hamilton likened herself to Bridget Jones and claimed she was being punished for her "alternative lifestyle" as she was fined for assaulting a policeman with a sunflower.

The former supermodel was ordered to pay more than £1,000 for launching the attack on the officer after drinking a bottle of wine.

She unleashed a garbled rant as she left court in which she blamed authorities for apparently criminalising eccentricity.

Earlier, she denied assaulting the officer who was called to her home.

Hamilton, dressed in a white shirt and dark, fur-lined coat, reportedly claimed the 14ft sunflower was a gift for the policeman. She was found guilty of assault at Aylesbury Magistrates' Court in Buckinghamshire, fined £400 and ordered to pay £650 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge, the court said.

Hamilton, 52, who became the first housemate to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother this year, tore into the police and judicial system as she left the precincts.

She claimed she was made a scapegoat for being an eccentric and leading a "slightly different" lifestyle.

"I was giving a policeman a family flower, a crest, and yes, I had drunk a bottle of wine like Bridget Jones," she said.

"That was my crime. My crime here today is because I have an alternative lifestyle, one where England is losing.

"We are all becoming robots. When anyone is individual, they are bullied at school and everyone is told to keep in their little tiny bit of expertise and they have to employ someone else to have any other expertise."
