Harpist Anna lucks out in Voice

Harp-playing hopeful Anna McLuckie missed out on a place in The Voice's live stages as the BBC1's coaches assembled the lucky singers who will go forward to the quarter-finals.

Ricky Wilson and finalised the acts they will take through, on top of the artists chosen by Kylie Minogue and Sir Tom Jones, leaving 12 hopefuls to battle on when the first live heat is staged next weekend.

Scottish singer Anna had been strongly fancied to go further with her soaring voice, and her blind audition has proved a popular draw on YouTube with more than four million hits.

She had opted to go with Will's team after the auditions, despite strong interest from Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky to join his squad, but the Black Eyed Peas star decided to let her go as he finalised his trio tonight.

Ricky also had agonising decisions to make as he mulled over whether to keep Jazz Bates Chambers, but he opted instead to retain Emily Adams after his coaching colleague Kylie advised he should follow his heart.

For this weekend's knockout stage of the contest the coaches had to slim down their teams from seven contestants to just three for the live quarter-finals.
