Harrison Ford tight-lipped about Star Wars return
Harrison Ford will not say if he will reprise his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, scheduled to hit cinemas in 2015.
Rumours have swirled for months the actor might reprise his role as Han Solo in the forthcoming sci-fi sequel directed by J.J. Abrams.
The movie began filming in the UK in May.
Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are also expected to appear despite a new cast beginning the fresh trilogy.
Harrison was pressed about the issue while speaking with Access Hollywood at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego.
The actor would neither confirm nor deny his appearance during a tense encounter with reporter Scott Mantz.
“How does it feel after 30 years – after you wanted Han Solo to die in Return of the Jedi – to be playing him again?” Mantz asked.
“Um, uh, uh, hmm…” Harrison stumbles.
“Say it!” the journalist demands.
“No… I mean, I won’t say it,” Harrison resolves.
The 71-year-old star was at the annual convention to promote his new movie, Ender’s Game.
He was slightly more forthcoming about the experience he’s having his second time out at the event.
“I’m glad to be here with a movie that I think is a really good, good movie,” he said of Ender’s.
The sci-fi film, written and directed by Gavin Hood, tells the story of a group preparing for an alien invasion.
Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld co-star.
“It was a fun experience for me to be involved in it. I like the work that other people did and I’m pleased to be here,” Harrison said.
Ender’s Game is scheduled for release this fall.
Star Wars: Episode VII is slated to hit cinemas is 2015.
