Hart wants to be friends with Perry

Miranda Hart has visited Hollywood to tell her US fans about her aim of meeting Matthew Perry.

The Call The Midwife star was at the Television Critics Association's PBS Summer 2013 event to talk about her role as Chummy in the show, but also had a lot to say about the former Friends star, according to Deadline.

She stated the main aim of her visit was, "to meet Matthew Perry. We are to be married."

Miranda revealed he wasn't the only person she had been starstruck by, and talked about her experience of meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Graham Norton Show back in the UK.

She said: "I found myself touching him quite a bit... I wanted to feel his gun."

Asked whether she wanted Hollywood to come calling, Miranda said: "Yes, please. No, I haven't really explored [that option]. I've been so busy back home. It's on the bucket list for sure to do a comedy film, even if it was just one line on the lot. And I must meet Matthew Perry..."

On rumours she had been lined up to play the first female Doctor Who, she said: "No, it wasn't true - but [the rumour was] that it was between me and Helen Mirren."

Miranda admitted she wasn't flattered at being considered perfect to play a half alien, but said if she had been offered the role it would have been a "tough decision".
