Hawkins: I'm an uneasy poster girl

Sally Hawkins and Rafe Spall are treading the boards in Constellations

Sally Hawkins has confessed she is still getting used to seeing her face on posters.

The award-winning star of films such as Happy Go Lucky and Made In Dagenham features on adverts across London for the play Constellations, but Sally admitted seeing her image blown up on signs and buses makes her blush.

"I just scurry past them. I find it really embarrassing. I haven't seen this one out and about but I saw it for Made In Dagenham, that was strange," she confessed.

"I was out of the country for most of that one but I saw me on the side of a bus and that's a bit surreal. But you have to remember it's not you in a way."

Sally stars alongside One Day actor Rafe Spall in the critically-acclaimed Constellations, which is transferring from the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs to London's Duke Of York's theatre.

"It's like a play I'd never read before and I was really excited by it, and I heard Rafe was doing it. There was something very exciting about it, and doing a two-hander with Rafe," she said.

:: Constellations begins its run at the Duke Of York's Theatre on November 9.
