Heaton wins Celebrity Mum accolade
Michelle Heaton has been crowned Mum Of The Year - after her daughter was sick over her on the way to collect her award.
The former Liberty X singer - who became a mother for the second time just two and a half weeks ago to son AJ - came a cropper when two-year-old Faith became ill during the car journey.
Michelle, 34, was unveiled as the Disney Celebrity Mum Of The Year at a special event in London.
The singer said of her daughter: "She put on her Minnie Mouse dress and she looked beautiful and then in the car on the way here she was sick everywhere. I was holding my hands (to catch it) because I was worried the car was going to smell and it was coming out ... this is disgusting, but this is what happens, being a mum.
"AJ was sick during the night and Faith was sick this morning, so I have sick on my shoulder and sick through my hands."
The singer and presenter had a preventative double mastectomy in 2012 after discovering she carried the BRCA2 gene, which put her at a higher risk of developing breast cancer, and went on to take part in ITV2's The Big Reunion where she performed again with her former group Liberty X.
As the gene also puts her at a greater risk of developing ovarian cancer, she has said she will eventually have her ovaries removed, too.
Michelle said it had been a pleasant surprise to win, having been up against other famous parents including Abbey Clancy, Davina McCall and stars from The Saturdays - Una Foden, Rochelle Humes and Frankie Sandford.
She said: "When I found out that I was nominated and then I saw the other people who were in the nominations, I was like I've got no chance, because you could see why everybody would vote for other people and you don't really think of that about yourself, like, 'Maybe they'll vote for me because of this'.
"It's just really nice that I've got that connection with people out there because I am a mum of two now, I'm completely normal, just because I'm in the business makes me no different to other people out there who are juggling being a mum, so it's nice that those people have voted for me."
Michelle, who has recently made a fitness DVD for pregnant women, said: "It's to promote being healthy, not being stick-thin. I yo-yo with my weight and I put on three stone while I was pregnant, like everybody else does. I'm wearing two pairs of Spanx and I can't breathe, so that is reality."
