Heidi Klum cancels Halloween party

Heidi Klum will not host her highly anticipated annual Halloween costume party due to Hurricane Sandy's devastation.

The model and Project Runway host planned to throw her extremely popular bash on October 31, but the natural catastrophe has prompted her to call off the affair.

Hurricane Sandy, a category one "Frankenstorm", ripped through America's east coast, flooding many areas of New York City and leaving millions without power.

Heidi is most concerned with safety and rebuilding efforts at this time.

"I hope you & your loved ones are safe after this devastating storm in the New York City area," she released in a statement to ET Online.

"For obvious reasons, I am cancelling my Halloween party scheduled for tomorrow night. I hope to postpone for the near future... maybe a very Haunted Christmas? I hope everyone understands and stays safe."

Normally numerous celebrities attend Heidi's party in lavish costume.

Hurricane Sandy's death toll is around 35 people and rising.
