Helen Mirren’s advice for Lohan and Bynes
Helen Mirren thinks Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes should be stuck “up their own bum”.
The actress gave her opinion on the various troubles the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes have gotten into lately during an interview.
She thinks they have had run-ins with the law because they are self-absorbed.
"I don't know if you're allowed to say this on television," she said. "But don't be up your own bum.
"People get up their own [bottom], and you really don't need to. It's the thing of the young. Just—just don't do that."
The 67-year-old is currently promoting her new movie Red 2 and has been acting for six decades.
She has commented in the past that young entertainers often do silly things.
"We're all idiots when we're young," she told Esquire in 2011. "We don't think we are, but we are. So we should be. The hardest period in life is one's twenties.
“It's a shame because you're your most gorgeous and you're physically in peak condition. But it's actually when you're most insecure and full of self-doubt. When you don't know what's going to happen, it's frightening."
Lindsay spent her 27th birthday on Tuesday at Cliffside Malibu while she undergoes rehab for incidents related to driving offences.
Amanda is due in court July 9 for allegedly throwing a bong from her New York apartment window.
The troubled former child star was charged with possession of marijuana, attempted evidence tampering and reckless endangerment, which she strongly denies.
Amanda was arrested on suspicion of DUI in April 2012 and has been involved in two alleged hit-and-run cases in the last year.
She is currently on three years' probation for driving on a suspended licence following a traffic stop in Los Angeles, California in September 2012.
