Henry Cavill: I'm proud to be me

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill was brought up to be "proud and confident".

The British actor stars as the iconic Clark Kent character in Man of Steel, the latest instalment in the Superman franchise.

The star has always been a confident person, which he believes helped him make it this far.

"My parents raised my brother and I to be very proud of who we are - not to the point of arrogance, but to the point of pride and confidence," he opened up to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"Even when I had a tricky time in school, you know, because kids are mean and that's just the way it is, I never wished I was anyone but me. I just thought, well this is pretty tough for the time being and let's get through this."

Man of Steel is a huge boost for the 29-year-old's career.

The hunk can clearly remember the moment he found out he'd won the role.

"It's surreal when you get a part like that, you don't really believe it," he marvelled.

"The scope of what it is to get a role of this magnitude, with such a great team attached and the opportunity to tell such a wonderful story, is difficult to realise. Not to say I didn't get very excited. I ran up and down the stairs of my house shouting for a good 15 minutes while I was trying to call my family - no one was picking up their phone!"

Sorting out and organising your surroundings should be your first priority. As a general rule, you don't mind an untidy workspace. As far as you're concerned, messiness is a sign of genius. There comes a point when even the most talented person has to make order from chaos. It may take a few hours to sort through all the papers that have accumulated, but take heart. Once you dispose the junk, you'll be able to zip through chores like a hot knife through butter.More
