Charlie Higson has revealed the gags came "pouring out" when he and Fast Show co-star Paul Whitehouse reunited for an online show.
The funnymen have teamed up for a special web series of the hit 1990s comedy show, and Charlie revealed their initial misgivings about running out of jokes proved unfounded.
He told The Sun: "Paul and I worried when we started if we could come up with new ideas after all this time. Would it be a grind? Would it work?
"But we found once we sat down the ideas were pouring out. We had way too much stuff, easily enough for a full telly series."
The series was commissioned by beer company Fosters and can be viewed from November 10 at www.fostersfunny.co.uk.
And Charlie, 53, said if the shows fared well he and Paul might consider bringing it back to the small screen.
"Right now we are waiting until it goes out to see the response to it before we get in touch with anyone about broadcasting it on the telly," he added.
