David Hasselhoff has told how he tried to woo his Welsh girlfriend with a fancy meal at a top Swiss restaurant - but had to drive her to McDonald's instead.
The Hoff has been dating a Cardiff shop worker almost half his age since meeting her during the audition stage of Britain's Got Talent. He told Hello! magazine that he took her for a romantic break in Switzerland but despite persuading an "incredible restaurant" to stay open for them, she preferred to nip for a burger.
"She looked at the menu and said, 'There's nothing on here I can eat'. I had to drive her to McDonald's on the way back to the hotel," said the 58-year-old.
He met 31-year-old retail assistant Hayley Roberts - who still lives with her parents near Swansea - in a Cardiff hotel while he was visiting the Welsh capital. The pair recreated a pose from David's hit TV show Baywatch during a photoshoot in Malibu, California - where the series was filmed - for the magazine.
The divorced father-of-two said he did not rule out marriage. "I'm not writing it off - who knows?" he said.
Hayley said her actor boyfriend had told her he loves her, although she is not quite sure how serious he is.
"After he says 'I love you', he says 'that just means I really like you'. So I don't know if he means it or not. But she added: "He's a super, amazing guy and I could spend all my time with him. He's perfect."
