Holden puts hold on pilot's licence
Amanda Holden has revealed she wants to get a pilot's licence - but is holding off until after her baby girl is born.
The 40-year-old Britain's Got Talent judge has just announced she is pregnant, and told The Daily Telegraph she is looking forward to taking time off to spend with husband Chris Hughes and their five-year-old daughter Lexi.
Amanda said: "I've been working for 20 years now, non-stop, so I'm looking forward to taking it easy for a bit. I'd like to be home past 5pm to help Lexi with her homework, and learn how to cook so that Chris can come home from work and find me sweating over a hot stove in a pinny...
"But we've both agreed that it's probably best to wait until after the baby's born for me to fulfil one final ambition - to get my pilot's licence."
The actress will step down form her starring role in West End hit Shrek The Musical in October.
She said: "I've loved every second of Shrek, and I'm going to try to stay on for the next month but the slightest twinge and I'm out."
Amanda spoke openly about the loss of her son, who was stillborn at seven months in February, and revealed her daughter Lexi had helped her keep strong in the months following the tragedy.
She said: "That was because of her. She was so cross with her brother because she'd wanted someone to play with, but I told her that his heart wasn't strong enough and that, like Peter Pan, he'd gone off to play somewhere else."
The actress spoke about coming to terms with her grief.
She revealed: "Wherever else he needed to be, he is now. And I feel honoured to have carried him and looked after him as long as I did - I really do."
