Holly Madison was "freaked out" by her recent hospitalisation.

The blonde model is expecting her first child with boyfriend Pasquale Rotella and suffered a scare earlier this week.

Holly - who is seven months pregnant - was briefly hospitalised on December 3 for excessive morning sickness and was left shaken by the incident.

"When [the morning sickness] started happening really late [in the pregnancy] and I was really vomiting a lot during the day, it freaked me out," she told Entertainment Tonight.

"I was told to go to the doctor and get an IV and everything. So, that was kind of scary to me just because it seemed like something so unusual...but everything's OK so far, so that's good. I'm excited to get through these last months of pregnancy. Hopefully no more scares."

Holly is due to give birth to her daughter in the first week of March, but the couple haven't chosen a name yet. The 33-year-old star is waiting to see what her daughter's "vibe is" before deciding.

The Duchess of Cambridge was also recently hospitalised with severe morning sickness and Holly has offered some words of encouragement to the royal mother-to-be.

"I wish her the best and I'm glad she's getting the best possible care and I'm super excited for her," she said. "I think everybody wants to see [the baby] named Diana if it's a girl. I think that would melt the hearts of the world."
