Hollywood star Morgan Freeman spotted in Belfast city centre
Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman has been spotted walking the streets of Belfast on Thursday.
Pictures on social media show the The Shawshank Redemption star walking near Brunswick Street, while there are reports he was also spotted at popular tourist attraction The Crown Bar.
Meanwhile, a number of lucky fans managed to get a quick picture with the star as he walked around the Short Strand area of east Belfast.
It's understood the actor has a family member studying at University in Northern Ireland, possibly explaining his visit to the city.
Best known for his roles in Driving Miss Daisy and The Shawshank Redemption, Morgan (79) has recently been promoting his latest film Going In Style alongside fellow acting veterans Michael Caine and Alan Arkin.
The film is directed by former Scrubs star Zach Braff.
In a career spanning over 40 years, Morgan has won many prestigious awards - including the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2005 for his role in Million Dollar Baby.
