Honey G voted off The X Factor after pranksters' stage invasion
Honey G found herself hitting headlines once again after losing the tense sing-off against 5 After Midnight.
Honey G was voted off The X Factor on Sunday night (27Nov16) after an eventful weekend.
The rapper has had a controversial ride on the ITV talent show, with many accusing bosses of fixing the result to ensure she stayed on the programme.
But Honey’s time on the programme came to an end on Sunday after a tense sing off with 5 After Midnight.
It was up to head judge Simon Cowell to either say goodbye to Honey or send the vote to deadlock, with the music mogul praised by viewers for doing the "right thing" and opting to vote the rapper off the show.
The singer, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, labelled her time on The X Factor a "completely life-changing experience", adding: "Everybody who said that I could not make it here, I'm standing here right now - X Factor."
Honey’s exit came after a scandalous episode on Saturday night, when pranksters from group Trollstation rushed onto the stage after the rapper's first performance of the evening, and attempted to nab her trademark baseball hat and microphone.
ITV later said that five men were removed from the studio by security and spoken to by police.
Following the latest exit, Saara Aalto, Matt Terry, Emily Middlemas and 5 After Midnight will compete in the semi-finals of the show, meaning that each judge has one act left.
The four remaining acts will have to perform Christmas songs on next weekend's show, after the jukebox chose the next theme.
Honey being voted off the show came after former X Factor winner Sam Bailey criticised Sharon Osbourne, who mentored both Honey and Sam, for having pushed the rapper through to the live shows.
"She's stealing everyone's thunder a bit. But I don't think that's fair because she's not someone who is going to sell out arenas," Sam told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper.
"There are people with massive potential. But shamefully it's been overshadowed by Honey G and the controversy about her being in the show."
