Horrocks: No cliches in Trollied

Jane Horrocks reckons Trollied ignores the usual northern cliches

Jane Horrocks has revealed she's pleased her new series Trollied isn't "cliched northern humour".

The Absolutely Fabulous actress plays an aspiring supermarket manager in the Warrington-set Sky1HD comedy, which begins on August 4.

Describing the series, she said: "It's not chip butty writing, which I'm very relieved about."

Putting on a broad northern accent she defined the type of writing she didn't like by saying: "In't it grand up north? And we're all called Tiffany and Kylie."

She added: "It's a bit more sophisticated than that, Trollied, in its writing style."
