Hudgens ‘needs variety’
Vanessa Hudgens says she is constantly “pushing herself outside of her comfort zone”.
The 25-year-old Gimme Shelter actress says she currently has a huge hunger for diversity.
The star requires new experiences in both her personal and professional life.
“[I need] variety,” she told Collider.
“That’s what it’s always been though. I love mixing it up and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone because that’s how you grow. And then your comfort zone is that much bigger, and then you keep pushing yourself more and more from there.”
Vanessa portrays a poor and pregnant teenager who flees her mother’s abusive home only to be rejected by her wealthy father in Gimme Shelter.
The star appreciates her job, as acting allows her to experience life in a singular way.
“Recently, all the roles that I’ve done have just showed me that I’m willing to go the extra mile and actually put the work in. It made me grow so much in that I’ve been able to look firsthand at what’s going on in the world around me,” Vanessa explained.
“I feel like I’ve lived a pretty sheltered life growing up and then was in the industry when I was very young. So, certain aspects of these girls’ lives that I’ve been playing I’ve never really witnessed. The more I know, the more I’m a fuller person. It just made me grow for sure.”
