Hudson calls off engagement
Kate Hudson is no longer planning to marry Matt Bellamy.
The Wish I Was Here actress has called off her engagement to the Muse frontman more than three and a half years after he proposed. The couple have a three-year-old son Bingham together who will remain their top priority.
"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," her rep confirmed to People magazine. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
The blonde beauty hasn’t been seen wearing her engagement ring since early November. The couple have also been spending a lot of time apart recently. The 36-year-old musician was absent from Kate’s Thanksgiving celebrations and this week he was seen partying in London while his fiancée headed out in Los Angeles.
“Kate doesn't ever want to get divorced again, and she wasn't sure marriage with Matt was the right choice,” a source told X17online. “There is still a lot of love there, and they plan to amicably co-parent their son. Who knows what the future holds for them, but right now it's not a wedding.”
The pair have been dogged by break-up rumors for months. The 35-year-old, who also has son Ryder, ten, with first husband Chris Robinson, had to defend their relationship in July during an appearance on The View.
“We’ve got kids and a family and we’ve got to find our time together alone. We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids, really. For us, we’re just happy,” she said. “I know that’s not really necessarily a golden ticket but there is something beautiful about the security of marriage. And we’ll get there when we get there.”
