Hugh Grant: Everyone should have kids
Hugh Grant believes having a child "changes your life" and so recommends everyone "gets some".
The actor has welcomed his first baby following a brief romance with former model Tinglan Hong. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the Four Weddings and a Funeral star gushed about his baby daughter Tabitha.
"It's surprising that everyone was right all these years," he said.
"[People were] saying, 'Hugh, why don't you have some children? It changes your life.' And, you're thinking, 'Oh, shut-up!' And now that I have [a child], it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some."
Hugh also revealed his daughter's name in Chinese is Jingxi. He believes it is very fitting for her.
"It's very nice. I can't pretend it wasn't a little bit of a surprise but, it's a very nice surprise. In fact, the baby's name in Chinese - because the mother is Chinese - means 'happy surprise,'" he said.
Hugh had Tabitha christened in a quiet English village close to the home of his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley last weekend. He hinted Elizabeth organised the event, saying one of his former partners is the godmother of his baby and twisted his arm about the christening.
"One of my ex-girlfriends is extremely bossy and she called me and said, 'You are having a christening.' And I said, 'I don't think so' and she said, 'No, it's happening, I am her godmother,'" he recently said. "And so the next thing, we were down in a charming little country church with my daughter being christened."
