Kate Humble has said she won't fight "tooth and nail" to stay on the telly.
The Springwatch star's next role will be fronting a series about helping people reduce energy consumption.
But she said: "TV is a law unto itself, people are in fashion or they're not. I've been extremely lucky to have as long a career as I've had."
Kate said of her next show: "It's just an interesting thing to do. It wouldn't matter if it was a telly project, a writing project or something to do with the farm - I just want to do it.
"As long as those projects continue to come my way I am extremely happy to stay working in TV. What I won't do is fight tooth and nail to be on the telly."
Kate, who has written all about moving from a city flat to a farm in Wales in a new book, said of buying the farm which would have otherwise been sold off in small pieces: "We thought it was important to keep farms like this productive. I feel quite validated given the horsemeat scandal."
