Iain Glen fulfils dream in TV role

Iain Glen has always wanted to play a private eye

Iain Glen has said he's fulfilling a dream by starring in TV drama Jack Taylor.

The Scottish actor, 51, has wanted to play a private eye since watching the 1974 film Chinatown.

Now he plays an Irish ex-cop in the Channel 5 show, three feature-length thrillers based on the novels by Ken Bruen.

Iain, who has enjoyed roles in Tomb Raider, Downton Abbey, Ripper Street and Game Of Thrones, admitted: "I've always fancied playing a private eye since seeing Chinatown with Jack Nicholson."

He added: "When (director) Stuart Orme sent me the pilot episode through, I liked the material."

:: Jack Taylor begins on Channel 5 on Thursday, February 21.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
