Isla Fisher: You can’t sleep your way to the top
Isla Fisher admits that a scene she recorded for Sacha Baron Cohen’s movie The Dictator got chopped despite her being his wife.
The actress confessed that she filmed scenes in her husband Sacha Baron Cohen’s film The Dictator.
However her part in the comedy flick ended up on the cutting room floor.
“I actually did a scene or two in The Dictator but they were cut,” she revealed to British newspaper the Daily Mirror. “It just shows you that you can sleep with the main star, but the casting couch doesn’t always pay off!
“Sacha cast me as a Russian prostitute, but it didn’t work for the main story. Despite that, we had a lot of fun doing it.”
The Australian beauty has two children with the funny man, Olive, five and Elula, two.
Despite the 37-year-old’s blossoming career, she isn’t ready for super stardom just yet.
“It’s a juggling act and I’m not particularly good at it,” she admitted about working and being a parent. “The balls are in the air, but my priority is always my family.
“A lot of my friends who don’t have access to childcare drop their kids with me. I’m often surrounded! While the little ones are small I only want supporting roles. I just want to be there for them.”
Isla recently appeared in The Great Gatsby and now stars as Henley Reeves in Now You See Me.
She adores her character in the latter because of her feminine approach.
“She’s strong, fearless and sexy, and doesn’t try to act like a man in order to fit in with the men,” Isla pointed out. “She’s a dream for an actress to play.”
