Jackman to perform at 50th birthday?
Hugh Jackman will reportedly perform at a star-studded bash in Las Vegas.
The 45-year-old actor will apparently entertain guests at a birthday party in honour of Andrea Wynn, who is married to casino mogul Steve Wynn.
Apparently Hugh will take to the stage at a huge bash to celebrate Andrea's 50th birthday, which is being held on March 1. The event is taking place in Steve's iconic Wynn establishment in Las Vegas.
Sources have told New York Post the actor could request a fee as high as $1 million for the appearance, but he is apparently unlikely to ask for any payment because he is such good friends with Steve.
The party will be a glitzy affair, with a host of Hollywood's finest said to be invited. Among the rumoured guests are Sylvester Stallone and Clint Eastwood.
It's unknown what Hugh has planned for the event, but he is a strong singer as well as an actor.
Getting up on stage will be good practice for the star, who is due to take to Broadway for a production called The River early next year.
Although the star is riding high career-wise at the moment, he doesn't like to become complacent. He's previously admitted that he wants his two children with wife Deborra-Lee Furness to understand the importance of work and that things don't always go to plan.
"I want [my children] to go out into the world thinking things will be OK. The harsh reality is that things don't always turn out OK," he said.
" One line [a character of mine once had], which I used to think was a little bit of a glib line when I first read it but keeps resonating with me, is 'Pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.' So on some level, be ready. I'm more ready now than I was. That stays with me on a daily basis."
