Jada Pinkett Smith: 'My kids are angels'
Will Smith is no longer allowed to play board games at Christmas as he is too competitive.
Jaden and Willow Smith are angels compared to what their "wild child" mother Jada was like at their age.
The 44-year-old actress and her filmstar husband Will have allowed their children, Jaden, 17, and 15-year-old Willow to follow in their famous footsteps, and Jada reveals the twosome are great kids.
During an appearance on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (11May16), Jada talked about her family life and also opened up about what she was like as a youngster.
"But I must say, even though I have two teenagers, I still like them. You know, you have to love your children, but it doesn't mean you have to like them - especially when they're teenagers, OK?" she laughed. "You have to love them. I know when I was a teenager my mother, from 13 to about 40, I made a turn; she didn't like me. I was a wild child on the streets of Baltimore. That's real talk. Compared to my children and what I was doing, they're angels."
She also told Jimmy how Will is trying in vain to book various summer trips for the family, though Jada doubts it will come off as everyone is so busy.
Jada and Will have been married since 1997, but they regularly endure rumours of strife in their relationship. However, Jada paints a picture of a harmonious marriage – apart from when Concussion star Will, 47, gets his hand on a board game.
"I compete with myself, but Will on the other hand, he's tough. During Christmas time we like to play games - Monopoly, Scrabble - and he's been banned from family games several times," she divulged. "He gets so competitive. It's like, 'You have to remember: We're your family. You love us. It's Christmas and you're about to ruin it’."
She adds that Will isn’t below cheating on games, and helps himself to money from the Monopoly bank to make sure he wins.
