Jaden Smith: Rapper is so cool

Jaden Smith

Jaden Smith is "obsessed" with the rapper A$AP Rocky.

The 14-year-old was interviewed by a UK radio station about his new movie After Earth which co-stars his father Will Smith.

Jaden was impressed by the radio station's previous star guests, and excitedly revealed he's a big fan of the rapper as well as sharing his friendship with Selena Gomez.

"Wow you had Selena in here? What, she is just a friend. That is sad that she's ill. She's gonna be at this thing tonight... at this place," he joked. "What was A$AP Rocky here too? When? Is he still [in the country]? I'm obsessed with him. I met him one time, he was cool though, he was nice to me and my friends."

Hollywood icon Will teased his son about his over enthusiastic response to hearing Selena's name.

"Woah Jaden that was some energy right there!" he quipped.

The 44-year-old actor explained more about After Earth and what it was like to star as a father-son duo with his biological child. He joked that having Jaden as his co-star made his job more relaxed than usual.

"It makes it a bit harder when you have an actor who isn't your son playing your son, but hey I'm a good actor. We will keep you on the edge of your seat with the movie, it is fast paced. I think we did a great job with the movie, it is a father and son intense summer blockbuster," he excitedly explained, "I think the father and son link makes it really special. It's deep for your brain."
