Actress Jaime King wants her sons to understand the importance of tradition at Christmas (25Dec15).
The 36-year-old star is mother to two-year-old James and five-month-old Leo with husband Kyle Newman. As the holidays are now upon us, Jaime has opened up about how she likes to spend the festive season.
"I love putting up the decorations that we have received from my parents since I was born," she told Us Weekly magazine.
"I have one from every year, and it's very special to pull them out and continue that tradition with my sons."
The actress can’t wait to enjoy Christmas as a family of four this year. And she also revealed one of the aspects she finds the most exciting about the holidays is how people’s attitudes change.
"I love the energy of grace, joy, and the giving spirit that every human embodies but during the holidays," she said. "It just comes out and shines through people and into the world."
Jaime will be slaving over a hot stove to ensure everything is perfect on the big day. One item top of the menu is peanut butter pie – the recipe of which was given to her by her former Hart of Dixie co-star Scott Porter.
"(His) wife Kelsey makes and perfected (it). I finally got the recipe but if someone wants it - they would have to find it in my social security box," she joked.
"It's a family recipe, and that's Southern/MidWestern code for 'it will never, ever, ever be passed without explicit permission from The Porters.' ”
Jaime spoke to the publication as she promoted her collaboration with beauty company Birchbox. She created her own Wish List for the brand that includes a six month membership.
“I love the idea of sending my friends something curated every month," she concluded. "I also love that I have designed amazing organic baby and children's clothing Jaime King for Sapling Child... These are so meaningful because I poured my heart and soul into these designs and my love is all over them."
