James Van Der Beek has reportedly decided a Dawson's Creek movie would be "old and tired".
The star shot to fame portraying brooding Dawson Leery on the US TV show, which also starred Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams.
There has been a lot of talk of a big screen adaptation of the series but James has apparently decided it isn't for him.
"[He] had said he'd be interested if the reunion concept was fresh and brilliant," an insider told National Enquirer. "But he's now decided that any concept they could come up with to revive a nine-year-old show built around four fresh, smart teenage characters and their relationships would simply be old and tired."
James is continually asked about reuniting with his former casemates. He's previously joked about the concept.
"You know what I love most about [the rumours]?" James said. "That Michelle is always so up for it when they ask. Well, of course she is, her character died."
