James Van Der Beek ready for Earth Day
James Van Der Beek is gearing up for this weekend's Earth Day.
The former Dawson's Creek star says he and his family are very eco-friendly and are looking forward to celebrating being green on April 22.
He told E! Online that his family of four are doing all they can to lessen their carbon footprint.
"We've got a solar-heated pool," James told the site. "It works pretty well in the summer. It doesn't work quite so well in the wintertime."
"We buy organic, we recycle, drive a diesel car. Organic, non-toxic cleaning supplies, everything from dishwasher to detergent and soap."
James added that his wife Kimberly is even heading to the kitchen to do her part.
"My wife made her own almond milk yesterday," he said proudly. "We're very much into that."
The couple became parents to a baby boy - Joshua - last month. They already have a 17-month-old daughter Olivia together.
"She is an amazing big sister," the Don't Trust the B**ch in Apartment 23 star gushed. "She's just reacted so well. It totally surprised me. Don't ever put anything past kids. They will surprise you in the best ways."
