Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't need to dress up on October 31 as "she is Halloween".
The actress joked her connection with the 1978 movie Halloween is enough to make people scared.
She has such a recognisable face that she always feels adequately costumed for the spooky holiday.
"I don't have to [dress up], I am Halloween," she quipped to Fox News. "All I have to do is walk around. I'm not only famous but I star in the movie Halloween, so I just go as Jamie Lee Curtis."
Legendary rocker Alice Cooper, who is known for his scary attire, opts for an alternative look on October 31.
He likes to challenge the status quo by going for a different take on the fancy dress theme.
"That's one thing about us [his band], we always get to be Halloween so usually Halloween night we dress as insurance salesman or something," Alice explained. "But one of the guys did dress up as Jackie Kennedy with a little pillbox hat. He looked just like her too, looked kind of good."
Other stars donning a tongue-in-cheek costume this year include TV personality Ellen DeGeneres, who spoofed Sofía Vergara's Emmy outfit on her talk show.
"Muchas gracias everybody. Muchas gracias. Hola! My name is Sofía Vergara and I'm easy breezy beautiful Cover Girl from Colombia. Happy Halloween," Ellen joked during her impersonation. "As you can see I put my pumpkins out."
Sofía's backside was famously exposed at the awards show when her dress split, with Ellen copying the wardrobe malfunction.
The Modern Family actress quickly turned the tables during the episode, which will air today.
"Your [rear] looks huge," Sofia joked, before mimicking the star's voice and adding, "Hi, everybody, I'm Ellen DeGeneres."
Country singer Dolly Parton recently showed her light-hearted side when she revealed her plans for this year's Halloween get-up. "We have fun at Halloween," Dolly laughed. "I have two pumpkins... that's all I care about."
Other stars who spoofed their fellow celebrities this year include P. Diddy, who appeared as music star Prince at a Halloween bash.
Avril Lavigne's ex Deryck Whibley and his new girlfriend Ari Cooper chose to dress up as Avril and her fiancé Chad Kroeger at the weekend.
