Musician Jay McGuiness has apparently been struggling to learn the Argentine Tango with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Aliona Vilani.

The Wanted star Jay McGuiness has reportedly injured his Strictly Come Dancing partner during rehearsals, accidentally kicking her in the head.

The 25-year-old musician has been showing off his moves on the TV competition alongside blonde beauty Aliona Vilani. However things are thought to have taken a bad turn during practice this week (beg02Nov15), as Jay left his leading lady feeling disorientated while learning the Argentine Tango.

“It has all been going very smoothly for Jay and it looked like he would foxtrot to the final," an insider told Britain's The Mirror newspaper.

“But this week has been filled with problems. He can’t get his head round the steps and has kicked Aliona a few times. They’ve barely completed it correctly at all. Now Jay’s knee is leaving him in real pain too so they can’t work too hard. He’s starting to feel the pressure.”

Jay injured his knee in October (15) and photos emerged of him rehearsing wearing a bandage. Earlier this week the singer spoke out about how difficult the preparation process is as he battles it out on the dance floor every weekend against the likes of Peter Andre and Helen George.

"I have some basic advantages, because as a kid, I did some dancing," he told Britain's Hello! magazine. "I'd do tap and ballet after school – really cool at that age – and then at 16, I did three years of musical theatre But that was 10 years ago and now I‘m learning styles I’ve never done before. Believe me, without Aliona, it would be car crash.”

He also talked to the publication about how he changed his appearance for the programme, cutting off his famous curly locks. It's made him feel like a whole new man, especially with the amount of exercise he gets during the routines.

"I have to say, what with the haircut and the training, I feel three pounds lighter," he grinned. "Although a slicked-back ponytail might have been a good look for the tango."
