Jedward: We're Obamas of X Factor

Jedward reckon they are the Barack Obamas of The X Factor

Jedward have compared themselves to US president Barack Obama, claiming they have brought change to The X Factor.

The quiff-haired Irish twins, who failed to win a recording contract with Simon Cowell but have remained in the spotlight anyway after winning a legion of fans for their quirky and comedic performances on the talent show last year, claim this year's contestants are all following in their footsteps.

Edward Grimes said: "Me and John were the Barack Obamas on The X Factor last year. We made the change and this year there have been loads of changes on The X Factor.

"It's all about Jedward, it's all about Jedward-esque performances.

"I think Simon Cowell totally has his game on us. I think he's been researching us trying to get the whole Jedward into the show this year.

"And each of those contestants, they've all been compared to us, Wagner's been compared to us, Diva Fever, Katie Waissel, they've all been compared to us, Gamu, everything."

John Grimes added: "It's kind of cool that each of those contestants know that they have to do something different, that is doesn't just come down to singing. Because everybody in The X Factor is here because they can sing.

"It comes down to performance, it comes down to something more, star quality and we feel that Cher (Lloyd) has star quality."
