Jenna Dewan-Tatum: My house is crazy

Jenna Dewan-Tatum discusses the difficulty of returning to work after giving birth in May.

The 32-year-old dancer-and-actress and her husband Channing Tatum welcomed daughter Everly into the world on May 31.

Although the baby isn’t even two months old yet, Everly’s mother and father have returned to work.

Jenna is currently filming Lifetime network TV feature The Witches of East End and Channing is on the set of The Lego Movie.

Juggling both home and family is a challenge for Jenna, but she appreciates having the support of Channing to get her through the difficulty.

“Channing’s been amazing. He comes and visits me — he’s working at the same time right now, but we prepared for that,” she told Access Hollywood. “We have a two week rule and we don’t break it so it’s a little crazy. It’s a little crazy at my house, but it’s good.”

Jenna is noticing that she is now developing two distinct minds.

The star is in full thespian mode on set and when she returns home her maternal nature takes over.

“It is hard. It definitely is a challenge. … I’m getting more in the flow of things now, but it’s about switching the brain from, ‘Ok, now I’m mom.’” she explained. “‘Now, I’ve gotta go to set and be actress,’ and jumping into [my character], Freya, and then coming back and breastfeeding.

“It’s a juggle, but I sort of feel like every new mom who goes back to work feels this.”

Jenna and Channing met on the set of dance movie Step Up in 2006 and married three years later in Malibu, California.
