Jenner’s talk show ‘cancelled’
Kris Jenner’s US talk show has reportedly been cancelled by executives at FOX network.
The Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch has been told that her six-week trial on America’s FOX network did not impress and she won’t be returning to air, according to Radar Online.
Kris, who premiered her eponymous show on July 15, has apparently known for some time the outlook was bleak.
“There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it,” she was reportedly told.
Kris apparently got a ratings boost when Kanye West made an appearance earlier this month, revealing the first picture of his baby with Kim Kardashian, Kris’ granddaughter North.
According to Radar, the stint wasn’t enough to convince network executives to give Kris another shot.
“It’s a very crowded market and Kris didn’t do anything to set herself apart from the field,” a source said.
“Believe it or not, most of America doesn’t want to hear about the Kardashians for an hour everyday.”
Kris announced the venture in January, revealing it was a “dream come true” to become a talk show host.
“This is something I have wanted to do all my life…” she said in a statement.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star will not make a formal announcement of the cancellation, according to the outlet.
“It will be announced in a low key fashion, probably on a Friday afternoon so it won’t generate a ton of negative press for Kris,” an insider said.
