Jennifer Aniston sued by contractor
Jennifer Aniston became delinquent with payment after commissioning a contractor to build a deck at her Los Angeles home, according to court filings.
The actress reportedly hired J.R. Darnall Associates, Inc. to work on her mansion in the ritzy neighbourhood of Bel Air in October 2012.
L.A. County Superior Court filings obtained by TMZ allege the company’s employees worked on several renovation projects commissioned by Jennifer through March 2013.
Lawyers allege that is when the firm was contracted to build a deck for a party at the residence.
The project was apparently completed for the amount of $43,710.
On March 25, 2013, the contractor supposedly received a call about a leak in the deck the day after the soiree.
“The company says it offered to send an expert to the home to evaluate the situation - but Jen had the deck ripped down before the expert could complete his inspection,” TMZ reports.
According to the filings, Jennifer ceased communication with the firm and has refused to pay for the deck’s construction. It was the first time she was negligent with a payment, according to the claim.
A spokesperson for the star has yet to publicly comment on the allegations.
The Bel Air residence is rumoured to be the location of Jennifer’s wedding to fiancé Justin Theroux.
Guests were reportedly invited to the home on August 10th under the ruse of celebrating Justin’s 42nd birthday, according to British newspaper the Daily Mirror.
Jennifer has played coy about rumours of the nuptials.
She seemed to deny anything had taken place during an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Sydney radio this week.
"It does feel a bit like they've exhausted the question, and also the speculations. It's all been pretty much exhausted," she said. "Why not just wait until we actually get to have the fun of announcing something, who wants to play the guessing game, whether it be [a] family wedding, this, that, the other thing.
"Apparently there was a secret one this weekend.”
